31 JanMaxwell’s latest single. . . Tears, is one to be remembered. More of an electronica track then his usual indie rock/acoustic routine, but he nails it. Maxwell really makes his vocals work with this synth driven track. Tears opens up the world of electronica for Maxwell, giving him yet another genre to play with. I for one hope to hear more of this.

28 SepPlenty of spook spawns from Long Island, including the young Maxwell Demon. Maxwell and I have spent many a nights putting down Long Island Iced Teas together. From posh and classy to dark and dismal, we have been there and back. . . Well maybe not all the way back. I like to think those nights put the strange in the beings. Here are a few lines from Maxwell himself on the release of his album “Strange Beings.”
Maxwell:
“It was a dark and stormy night. Here, in New York City, there was the faint scent of mischief and Long Island Iced Teas in the air. It was the eve of something most miraculous, one might say improbable, Maxwell Demon was finally releasing THE album.
An album so fraught with coke, booze and the heartless women of Buffalo, that it was nominated most likely to never be made. And yet, it was. Through the year of much darkness and despair, a guitar in one hand cigarette in the other, lyrics and harmonies were put down in ink, little by little, inch by inch, heartbreak after heartbreak.
And so here we are now, 15 LI iced teas deep, blacked out at a Toats Orig show, on the very tail end of a most long and arduous journey. Our story concluding with the beloved hero, lying in the street, surrounded by police, bear hugging his friend as ambulance sirens scream in the distance to come carry them away. So is it ever really truly over? Nah, I think this time it has just begun.”
